Transforming Schooling into Learning
About TSIL
Dignitas, in collaboration with the Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI), designed the Transforming Schooling into Learning (TSIL) project to address the capacity gap in implementing the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) across the counties of Kisumu and Isiolo. Over the two-year period, the project engaged school leaders, teachers, parents, and boards of management from primary schools to strengthen the ecosystem needed for effective CBC delivery.
In 2023 and 2024, Dignitas and KEMI worked together to identify the key Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) necessary for successful CBC implementation. Drawing on a behavioral science approach, the project focused on shifting mindsets and strengthening day-to-day practices to ensure long-term sustainability. Through a co-design process, we developed actionable, context-responsive models to address the identified gaps and support schools in meaningfully transforming schooling into learning.
