Deborah Kimathi

Deborah currently serves as Strategy and Partnerships Advisor. She previously led Dignitas as Chief Executive Officer from 2018 to March 2024, leveraging insight and skills honed over 22 years’ experience in the fields of education and child protection in East Africa. As CEO, Deborah catalysed 30-fold growth in Dignitas’ program reach and guided the organization to win numerous global awards and distinctions for its innovative programming.

Deborah also works with Education Workforce Initiative and is Founder and Trustee of Raising Futures Kenya, an award-winning training program for out-of-school youth, based in Nairobi. Deborah sits on the Kenya Advisory Board for the Evidence for Gender and Education Resource, and on the Board for Msingi Trust, a non-profit organisation working at the intersection of faith, justice and advocacy. She has a Bachelor of Divinity (Honours) and an MA in Education and International Development.
